30th Birthday at Sam Houston Race Park

The Winners Circle. Landon wanted to smell the flowers.

I wanted a picture with the Sam Houston Race Park behind them.
Landon was more than happy to give me a smile, but Cameron was not as willing.
They both just happened to look down when I snapped, the other pictures didn't turn out nearly as well as this one. I'll take what I can get, right?! :)

Sweet Boy having fun playing at the horse track.

They were having so much running outside.
They would get a running start, run towards one another ....

Then hug :)
"Cheese". He knows what a camera is for! Haha

Landon and I were walking and then he looked up at me and barked, asking permission to be a dog for the moment.  I knew exactly what he was saying so my reply was "Okay, Landon go ahead and be a dog". He immediately got down on all fours and started crawling and barking like a dog. Haha.

This is SO typical of my boy's. Landon minding his business and Cameron being a monster and chasing him. Haha. Oh boy's.

My sweet baby. I love this picture.

Its funny how with one snap of a picture they look so grown up.
                        This almost doesn't even look like my sweet baby boy, but a little boy.
Time is flying too fast.

The wind was blowing pretty strong,
 but I loved all the flags blowing so I could get a good picture of them.

Bringing the horses out for the first race! Stunning animals!

Deputy Dog. Cameron DID NOT want to get near him.
This is when he can show his age, just three, and its okay to be scared.

Stunning athletes!

This horse is BEAUTIFUL! I loved the yellow on him.

This is not the same horse as the one above. Justin loved this horse.
They placed the starting gates on the other side of the track so here they are on their way.

He was huge and frisky. I loved watching them!

Well, they all were frisky. I wish I would have gotten more pictures but chasing after two kiddos was a bit difficult while trying to film or take pictures while holding them making sure they got to see the races too. It was more fun watching the kids get excited about the horses. I think I might have started something with Cameron though. He keeps asking to go back!

A Milestone Birthday

I have reached it, folks... the BIG 30! I know everyone has different feelings about this birthday, but I am excited about it. I had an amazing time in my 20's. I think I had the best 20's I could have ever dreamed of. In my early 20's I was able to get out, spread my wings, and venture out west where God really blessed me. I grew into a woman. My love for the Lord deepened and I lived life to the fullest. I have no regrets! In my mid-twenties I met the man I would marry. My first boyfriend. My first kiss. The first boy that held my hand. The only man who ever pursued me like a woman is supposed to be pursued. He is my sweetheart and the father of my children. I am looking back now, I have been married almost 5 years, have two beautiful and healthy children and I feel like the richest woman in the world! There is no way that I would change one thing about my twenties. I am SO looking forward to this next exciting chapter in my life. God is SO good and I can see His handy work in my life, in every area.

So, farewell 20's - you have been wonderful. I had a blast and lived a wonderful 20's life! Here's to my 30's and new joy's and adventures. I cannot wait to see what God is going to do in our lives. I can only make sure that I keep Him first and have Him guide my steps in every area. Without Him, I wouldn't be where I am now. Thank you, Lord, for blessing me.

Houston Zoo
February 12, 2015

We took advantage of a beautiful February day and spontaneously decided to take a trip to the Zoo.
Of course we had a wonderful time and the boy's were wore slap-out by the time we left.

Landon didn't know what to think of the Elephants.

A beautiful, wonderful day with my boy's.

There wasn't anyone in here visiting the Chimps,
 and this one thought the boy's were funny and gave them a smile!
They weren't sure what to think, lol.

My Love's visiting Andre the seal :)

Here is to making more wonderful memories with my family and jumping into my 30's excitedly.

A Good Day with My Blessings

Cameron's reward last week for making 100 on his spelling test, a Paw Patrol Game!
He beat me both times we played! Haha.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I looked around, wondering why I didn't hear my little squeaky wheel....
its because he was being quiet....
laying in the floor looking at a book!
I was so shocked! Haha. He is never this quiet or still!
Cameron working hard.
Oh how I love this face! He is growing SO fast and is SO smart.
I love this child more than words could ever express.
Keep on being your sweet-silly self, Cam-man.
XOXO
A Thomley School Day
My sweet boy's have been working hard in their studies. Landon loves putting stickers on paper and coloring while Cameron does his book work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This past week I introduced money to Cameron. He is learning to identify change, tell me the name of the coin, and how much its worth. Plus adding the change. We have just recently started working on addition but he has caught onto the concept very fast.

Using money flash cards to help him with his worksheet.

Santa brought Landon these stacking pegs for Christmas and right now he is loving to see how tall he can stack them. Later on I plan to use them with counting, and color recognition. For now, they are just used for fine motor skills.

Landon's "schooling" mostly consists of looking at books, coloring, and putting stickers on paper and using his stacking pegs. He is so sweet and will try his hardest to count but he can only say "one". He will put them all out and say "nun, nun, nun" while using his finger like Cameron does when he counts. I love watching how he catches onto everything Cameron is doing. I know he is learning a lot from watching Cameron.

One of his favorite books, "Muddy Paws".

I have had these pre-writing worksheets for a long time, but I still use them for fine motor skills with Cameron. It helps him with coordination, and learning to go from the left side of the page to the right.

Working Hard.

Every time he sees my camera now he says "Cheese!".
He was showing me his work here.

I am so thankful that my boy's love learning and have the right attitude towards it. If it isn't fun any longer, we stop and take a break. I never let it get to where they are frustrated or not enjoying it. Cameron and I are able to school about an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon while Landon naps. That allows me to work with Landon a little while - while Cameron does some work on his on. In the afternoon I am able to work one-on-one with Cameron on his reading, spelling words, or math. It just depends on what we have for that day. It may seem simple what he is doing, but he is only 3 and for him to sit still and absorb everything I am teaching just thrills me.

I am not sure how well you can see all of his writing, but he wrote all of the numbers by himself!
He also wrote his name, and words by himself in the picture below.

 One thing we work a lot on is penmanship.
 I want him to have nice handwriting and we practice A LOT!
It may be hard to tell here because I was running out of room, but his words last week were: Up, It, Me, To, We, and Is.

A Hard Worker, A Big Reward

Cameron is doing extremely well in his school work. He has been working diligently and making sure that he completes all of his work so that he may earn a reward at the end of the week. So, this past week he earned a Lightening McQueen fishing pole and a Spiderman tackle box. He will not earn a reward this big every week, but since he made a 100% on his first spelling test he got the fishing pole and tackle box! This spring we are going to be entering him in to some kids fishing derby's/tournaments. He is excited and we are excited for him to participate!

Cameron will be 4 in March and I am so proud of his love of learning and working hard. Another, and the most important thing that happened this week (and that can happen in his life) is that he asked Jesus to live in his heart! I could not ask for more. One of his favorite things in school is his scripture memorization. He loves hiding God's word in his heart! What more could a mother ask for?!
