Cam-School

I have to say that I am really excited about this particular post. I have been searching, gathering, and sorting through what I wanted to start doing with Cameron where his 'education' is concerned. A lot of them are small activities that I can do with him when Landon arrives. However, I know that there will be a transition with all of us. Since Cameron has had the attention of 3 adults his entire life I am trying to gather learning activities, crafts and things that I can do one on one with him.

One of the things that I am starting is a Letter Of The Week. I will interject here to say that we already have Bible every morning after breakfast, and we use prayer flowers to pray for as many people as he wants to. He loves to pray! Instead of having one Letter Of the Week, I am going to concentrate on it for two weeks while introducing the other ones. I am going to be adding Bible verses (I am using this as a reference but adding my own), numbers, shapes and colors. I believe that I first found Letter Of The Week on Pinterest, but I am not sure. I feel like I have seen it before while just surfing the Internet. It really doesn't matter where I found it, just that I did and I think it is a cool way to introduce each letter. I have lots of things things to help him learn his ABC's. We have a puzzle, blocks, a LeapFrog Phonics set, flash cards and I don't know what else! I have been slowly collecting these things. Most of them have been gifts and I am so thankful for those who have thought of us and given such great gifts!

I can't remember where I read it, but I read that a busy toddler is a happy toddler. It went something like that. Cameron is a very active toddler and I want to try and keep as much structure in his day as I possibly can. It may not take very long to do some of these activities, but at least it will keep him busy! I have been finding books on Amazon that I think Cameron would like and making a "book list" for him.

I also want to make it a point to take Cameron outside and play every day once it warms up a bit. Sidewalk chalk, bubbles (which he loves), gardening, a pool when it warms up and anything else I can think of for us to do!

Well, I just wanted to post really quickly today. Here are a few pictures of Cameron playing outside last week when it was warmer.

He would much rather push something than ride it!

Just when I think he is getting so big, he looks so small still!

Finally riding his tractor.

What Mom?

Looking at my dead Aloe plant, haha.

These days only make me want Spring to hurry up,
I have Spring Fever badly!
Happy Monday, Everyone!

Recent Crafts

Spring Yarn Wreath

Ruffle Wreath
It was much more vibrant in peron. Hot pink.

I love how it turned out.

Homemade Chalk Board
I made this out of a picture frame I had.

A pair of Landon's scratch mitts...

The second pair I made.

The nursing cover I made for myself.
Not sure if I have shown this to you all yet, but I love it!

My Little Helper

Cameron is at the age where he loves to help, and for this I am so thankful. However as most of you know it can be more of a hinderance than a help. I know it may seem a little young but I have decided that with a new one on the way in just a few short months (I will be 30 weeks on Monday!), I will set aside a few "chores" for him to do. I know from potty-training that he loves stickers and enjoys seeing his rewards 'pile' up on his charts. So, he has 3 small "chores" that he helps with. Picking up shoes and putting them away, pick up his toys, and picking up his books. These are chores that need to be started now, and the fact that he loves doing them, I know will help me when Landon arrives.

One night earlier this week I was making dinner and rolling out some dough and he would not leave me alone. So, I thought he is big enough to stand here and act like he is helping. You would have thought he made the whole dinner! That sweet boy just stood there and pinched, pulled apart, and smashed that little ball of dough I gave him until dinner was ready! This is the first time that I have attempted this and I am so thankful that it was a plesant experience. Lol.

I know that men wear aprons and even though it may sound a bit 'girly', I am going to find some boyish material and make him his own little apron! Debbie and I wear one every time we are in the kitchen and he has to put on ours. So, here he is wearing my apron playing with the dough.

I am showing him how to "roll" the dough.
He loves Patty-cakes and I was showing him how
we "roll'em up, roll'em up".

Giving it a try himself.

Watching how Mommy does it ...

"See, see" ... showing us his working so proudly.

Serious about his work!

Happy to be helping Mommy!

Who wouldn't love a handsome cook like this one??

Cameron & The First Snow!

Just walking out into the snow, not sure what to think!

Cameron didn't know what to think of the snow.
It wasn't much but I loved watching him in it.

Giving Mommy some love'n!
(truth be told, Mommy wanted
love'n but he was trying to get away! haha)

Watching the snow fall. He has such a far off look on his face,
but I love the snowflakes that are on his eyelashes.

Back again

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted, but I have been having some technical difficulties STILL uploading photos. Not sure if its my computer or the site itself.

Well, nothing much is happening around here. I have been 'crafting' and preparing for Landon. I am getting excited! I am 29 weeks today and I can't believe how fast the time is going. I am getting anxious about his arrival and all that leads up to it.

I have been trying my best to explain to Cameron that a baby is coming. I know that he doesn't fully understand it, but he knows "Baby, Mama and home" ... he just started telling me that today. Over and over and over. I have found him an adorable boy baby doll on Amazon. I wanted him to have a baby to take care of and this was the sweetest one I have found at a pretty reasonable price. I am going to take his baby with me to the hospital along with this big brother book I have found. I thought that this would be a good way to help him transistion into 'big brotherhood' and make him feel like he is helping.

This week I have been pretty productive when it comes to getting things clean and ready for Landon. I have made 4 pair of scratch mittens for Landon and I am hoping to get my hospital gown made. The mittens turned out quite adorable! I am going to try and get the pictures to load later.

I have also gone back up with my website, www.craftjunkie.biz. I love the new look and I am going to keep adding things as I get them made.

I hope to have pictures up soon!

Until next time ....

Technical Difficulty

Grrrr... I have no idea what has happened but for some reason my brower button to upload pictures has vanished! I am trying to figure out what happened because I have several postings pending that I would love to share, but they just aren't worth sharing without the pictures I have for them.

So thank you for your patience! I am trying to figure it out.  Once I do I will send an email and let you all know that we are up and running again.

Until then ... :)

Precious Time

I knew that once Christmas was over time would start flying by, and guess what? I was right. My one on one with Cameron and it just being the two of us is slowly coming to a close before our little family of 3 is turned into a family of 4. So that makes the time that I spend with him in the next 2 months or so extremely special. It isn't like I am trying to make up for lost time or make up for something I know that I am not going to have. I just want to savor these few more moments I have with him before Landon arrives and he turns two!

I am trying to make sure that we get ourselves into a routine where I spend quality and uninterupted time with him whether its playing with Mr. Potato head, reading or even playing cars. However, I keep jumping up and running throughout the day without stopping to relax and knowing that in the back of my mind knowing that I need to rest for my sake and for Landon's sake. I kept wondering why I was so tired, but it's because I am almost 27 weeks pregnant and running around. Not good! I get up with Justin (most of the time) and don't stop until we land in bed around 10 p.m, completely exhausted!

However, this morning Cameron let me sleep until 9:15! I woke and couldn't believe what time it was! I was shocked and so very thankful for the extra rest.

All that to say, here are some pictures that either Debbie or I took over the past few days that just melt this mother's heart! It is just day by day regular things but they mean so much to me. Cameron is getting so big that its hard not to want to write down every single cute thing he does. They are just memories and I want to make sure I savor each moment.

***  Pictures coming soon! ***

He absolutely cracks me up.
This particular morning all he could think about was his boots and his hat.
So, while his clothes out I realized he hadn't worn this little western shirt that he had been given.
So, before he out grows it I put it on him. When we came downstairs he immediatley went to cleaning! I just wish I knew what went through his little mind sometimes.

My little man all decked out in his western clothes, ready to clean!

Some of his faces have no words! Lol
Just being a silly little boy!

Getting ready to make a trip to Lowe's.
Daddy's favorite place to shop!
Showing off his boots and his nice warm coat.

These are times that I cherish and don't ever want to forget. They are times that make each day so special, and rewarding as a mother. I know that I will look back oneday and can't remember how tiny he once was, but how big he is now. I know oneday he will come to me and give me a hug and I will be looking up to a grown man wondering where had the time gone.

How I dearly love my little man and wish I could keep every small thing he does at the front of my mind. I am so thankful to be his Mama and to care for him each day. He is truly a blessing to his daddy and me and those around him.

Just to a few precious moments!

Happy New Year!

I am excited about this coming year! Another chapter in my life. A baby that's going to be here in 14 weeks or less! A precious little boy who will be turning two in less than 2.5 months, and life as I know it will once again completely change. I cannot imagine loving another child as much as I love Cameron, but at the same time I cannot describe the love that I already feel for Landon.

However, I am not really one to make the typical "New Year's Resolution" because I know that I won't keep them. Yes, the first step in accepting it is confessing it first. Lol.

I do have several things that I would like to accomplish this year. I have several friends who have "words for the year" and I have been seriously considering it for quite some time. So, instead of considering, I have come up with a word! This word has been on my heart for long time and it's something that I know I need to incorporate more into my day. Prayer.

Prayer is my word for 2013!

Cameron is also beginning to enjoy praying. He loves praying before we eat and especially at bedtime, even nap time! If Justin and I pray with him after we read with him at night, he still wants to pray once he is in his bed, his baby under arm (His"Baby" is a little blanket doll that's a puppy he has had since he was 7 or 8 months old, and can't go to sleep without it), and covers pulled up! That's when he thinks we are supposed to say night prayers. It melts this Mommy's heart! At each meal he will grab my hands, squeeze his eyes as tight as he can while bowing his head with a huge grin on his face ready to say the blessing. It's adorable!

Earlier this summer I ran across a wonderful post on my friend Katie's blog, prayer flowers! She has many great idea's on teaching little ones. So, I took this great idea and created my own pot of flowers! Cameron loves it. He has always enjoyed looking at pictures, but now I know I can teach him to pray for specific people using these "flowers".  Thank you, Katie!

Also, I have incorporated this book into our day! This is one of the greatest books for boys, in my personal opinion. He got up this morning saying "car, car, car" because one of the characteristics of
God's Little Boy is being 'Helpful' and helping in washing the "car, car, car"! He was so excited to show me the book this morning. He is such a wonderful little blessing in my life.

But Jesus said,
"Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them;
for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven."
                                                                                           Matthew 19:14

There are many things that I want to do and to accomplish with Cameron this year, but most of all I want God to be the center of our day. One of my Christmas gifts from Prince Charming this year was  a stereo! I have wanted one for some time now, so that I can play worship music throughout the day for Cameron and myself. I read recently that part of the mother's responsibility is to set the tone of the house for the day. I love that idea. It is calming, relaxing, and worshipful. Not to mention PRAYING!

As I set this New Year off I want more than anything for God to come first, my husband second and then my children! I pray God's will for our life and that he will guide and direct us in the direction he wants for us in 2013!

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
                                          Jeremiah 29:11

Happy New Year, Everyone!

P.S. Folks, I apologize that there is so much white at the bottom of this post. It isn't showing on my post here where I can fix it.
